    The Second Israeli Film Festival was launched in Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay from 5th to 7th of June 2014.


    This event in Nay Pyi Taw marks the first film festival ever, to be organized by a western country in the Capital of Myanmar, and was honored by a large number of VIP guests among them are H.E. U Pike Htway, Deputy Minister for Information, H.E. Thura U Aye Myint, Pyithu Hluttaw Chairman of Sports, Culture and Public Relation Development Committee and other 3 Deputy Ministers (Culture, Science and Technology and Commerce).. More than 150 guests and movie fans from different government ministries enjoyed the opening film ” Something Sweet” in Junction Cineplex, Nay Pyi Taw.


    Similarly in Mandalay, despite the heavy rain, Myoma Cinema Hall was filled with nearly 400 audience and the opening of the film was honored by the presence of the Chief Minister of Mandalay Region Government, H.E. U Ye Myint and his ministers from Mandalay Region Government.


    H.E. Hagay Moshe Behar mentioned in his opening remarks that the film festival will represent movies that will expose Israel’s dynamic and vibrant society, its dilemmas, and moments of pain, sorrow, joy, love and happiness and described the latest achievements of the Israeli film industry, including - winning distinguished awards in numerous international competitions.


     To complete the “Israeli Experience” the film festival audience from Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay were served with some tasty Israeli snacks.
