    Ambassador of the State of Israel-H.E Hagay M. BEHAR, held a briefing (July 15th) concerning the current situation in the Middle East, specifying the reasons for the latest escalation between Hamas terrorist organization and Israel.

    Following an invitation from Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), the Ambassador of the State of Israel-H.E Hagay M. BEHAR, held a briefing (July 15th) concerning the current situation in the Middle East, specifying the reasons for the latest escalation between Hamas terrorist organization and Israel.
    During the meeting, the ambassador presented the process that led the Israeli Government  to launch operation “Protective Edge”-The massive attacks on Israeli innocent civilians, made by Hamas terrorist organization. The Ambassador showed a presentation that included pictures and videos which demonstrate Hamas distorted strategy of rocket launching from populated areas in Gaza Strip and Hamas Usage of civilians as human shields. In stark contrast the ambassador discuss about the high morality of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and its efforts to reduce the number of civilian casualties from the Palestinian side as much as possible, by making an unexceptional effort and usage of different and affective techniques.
     Following the briefing the Ambassador responded to questions presented by the participants that included the chairman of MISIS-H.E U Nyunt Maung Shein, former deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs- H.E Khin Maung Win, members of MISIS, cadets from the MOFA, Ambassadors, students of the International relations department and Philosophy Department from Dagon University and Yangon University, and a large number of representatives from the local Media.  After the briefing, the ambassador was interviewed by reporters from Sky net , MITV and Eleven media group.
