      H.E. Tzachi Hanegbi, Israel’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs made an official visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, between the 27th and 29th of August 2014.
    During his visit to the capital city Nay Pyi Taw on 28th of August 2014, he met with the Union Minister of Foreign Affairs - H.E U Wanna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for the President Office - H.E U Aung Min and Chairman of International Relation Committee of Pyi Thu Hluttaw - H.E U Hla Myint Oo.
    Furthermore, following his meeting with Union Minister of Culture, H.E. U Aye Myint Kyu, he signed together with Deputy Minister of Culture, H. E. Daw Sanda Khin, a cooperation agreement in the fields of Culture and Sports, which will provide the framework, for future collaboration between the two countries.
    H.E. Hanegbi’ s official visit to Myanmar, came after several official visits of Ministers from Myanmar to Israel (2013-14), and expressed once more the long lasting relation and unique friendship between Israel and Myanmar.

     During his meetings in Nay Pyi Taw, Mr. Hanegbi discussed promoting the bilateral relation and investments between the two countries and expressed Israel’s support of the encouraging changes and reforms taking place in Myanmar, in the last three years. He also mentioned Israel’s intention to extend the current training programs, in the fields of Agriculture, Health and Education, provided by “MASHAV”- Israel’s Agency for International Development and Cooperation, of which hundreds of Myanmar alumni, from the public, private and NGO’s, have enjoyed in the last 60 years.
