Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel

Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel

  •   Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel
  •
On the 28 April 2014, the state of Israel commemorates the national Holocaust Memorial day.
  •

This date is a remainder of the terrible tragedy that came upon the Jewish people, during the dark times of Nazi Germany, during  the period of the Second World War. We , the citizens of the state of Israel, the only Jewish State in the world,  remember the terrible extermination of 6 Million Jews, among them 1.5 million children ( a third of the Jewish population during that time) who perished in the Holocaust as a result of the unprecedented atrocities carried out by Nazi Regime. Many memorial ceremonies are being held around the country, and many broadcasts are dedicated to teach and carry on forwarding  the legacy left us by the  Holocaust survivors. As part of that legacy left us by those survivors, in the last five years we have been commemorating in Yangon, with the support of Myanmar Ministry of Education, the International day of commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust (27-Jan).
