    From 8th to 9th of May 2014, Israel ambassador H.E Hagay M. Behar made an official visit to Ayeyarwaddy Division.

    From 8th to 9th of May 2014, Israel ambassador H.E Hagay M. Behar made an official visit to Ayeyarwaddy Division.  During his visit the Ambassador had a courtesy call with H.E U Thein Aung, Chief Minister of Ayeyarwaddy Region, in which they exchange Ideas on promoting aid & economic relations, especially in the agricultural and vocational training. Taking the opportunity, the Ambassador presented the “Soul Bird” education project, launched by the Israeli Embassy in Yangon on 2014. On the occasion, the Embassy donated more than 600 translated books (in Myanmar, Chin and Kahyin language) to be distributed to public libraries in the Ayeyarwaady Region. On 8th May 2014, a ceremony for book donation was held in Seint San Village in Pathein and nearly 100 people from the region had participated in the event. Also on 9th May 2014, Ambassador visited Nga Pu Daw Township and donated 100 Soul Bird books in Myanmar and Kayin to “Alinn Dan” Library in the township.
     
    The Embassy has launched this Education Project last February during the Ayeyarwaddy Literary Festival, and since then donated nearly 4,000 translated books in Myanmar, Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan and Chin languages, to public libraries all over Myanmar. The aim of this Project is to promote the reading habits of the young generation in Myanmar. Among the regions and cities that ambassador had visited and donated books are Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay and  Saggaing.
