Over the past 59 years the cooperation between our two countries has included a variety of programs offered to the people of Myanmar within the framework of our bilateral relations, among these are courses offered by "MASHAV" – The Israeli Agency for International Development & Cooperation. This program is based in the transfer of technology and human resource enrichment in field's such as agriculture, education, health care, food security and more.

Ambassador Behar’s Biography
Hagay M. Behar joined the Foreign Ministry 18 years ago as a cadet. He has served in the embassies of Israel in the Ivory Coast and Belgium, and as consul in the Israeli Consulate in Chicago (USA). He began his term as Israel's ambassador to Myanmar in August 2012.
Mr. Behar has held a number of positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem, the last one for four years as Director of Resource Planning & Management in the Central Budget Bureau.
Ambassador Behar was born in Petah Tikva in 1963. Following his service in the Israel Defense Forces, he completed is B.A studies in International Relations and Spanish & Latin American Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and later received his M.A. degree in Law studies at the Bar Ilan University in 2009.
He is fluent in Hebrew, Spanish and English, and has a fair command of French and Portuguese.
Ambassador Behar is married to Nurit, has three children. Their oldest son is currently serving in the IDF.
