  • Film/Talk: "Shadow In Baghdad"

The Hebrew Language Table at the Library of Congress presents SHADOW IN BAGHDAD. Film/talk with clips from this new documentary Israeli filmmaker Duki Dror and Mideast journalist Linda Menuhin will be present (presentation in English).

A young Iraqi journalist sets out to write about Linda Abdel Aziz Menuhin, who escaped Iraq in the early 70’s and whose father, a prominent lawyer, had been kidnapped in Baghdad. The continuous dialog between the two slowly uncovers the tragic end of her father, as well as that of a whole Jewish community that thrived in Iraq for over 2000 years.  This is an inspiring story about a borderless friendship between a Jewish woman and a Muslim man that will increase openness and strengthen shared values. The program will feature clips from the film coupled with a talk by director Duki Dror and subject Linda Menuhin. Award-winning documentary filmmaker, Duki Dror (Zygote Films), was educated in film and theater at UCLA and Columbia College in Chicago.  Linda Menuhin is an award-winning Mideast journalist and a graduate of the Kennedy School of Government in Public Administration at Harvard.
