    Booni assumed his position as Minister for Administrative Affairs and Consul at the Embassy of Israel in Washington DC, in July 2011, after serving as Director of Management and Budget Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since 2009.

    Upon completion of the MFA cadet training program, Booni was Head of Administration at the Israeli Embassy in Amman Jordan. He also served as Consul at the Consulate General in Chicago and Head of Administration at the embassy of Israel in London UK.

    Before Joining the Ministry (1995), Booni worked as high school literature teacher (1992-1995).. 
    Holding a B.A  degree in Psychology and Literature,  from Tel-Aviv University, and M.A degree in Cultural Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

    Booni was born in kibbutz Dorot , in the Negev (south part of Israel), and is ​married to Na'ama. They have two children.​
