People of the world inscribe The Bible

On Thursday, 08 November 2012, representatives from The Institute for Christian Leadership Development (ICLD) arrived at the Embassy of Israel in Pretoria as they invited HE Ambassador Dov Segev-Steinberg, Deputy Ambassador Yaakov Finkelstein, and the entire staff of the embassy to join together and take part in inscribing individual verses of the bible in their various native tongues.   The representatives from the ICLD came to the Embassy as part of a larger project which is called ‘The Bible House.’

'The Bible House’ is a project of the government of the state of Israel. The leaders of modem Israel have acknowledged that the Bible is the most important gift that their nation has given to the world. They are hereby giving an opportunity to every nation in the world, which has received the Bible, to inscribe it in their indigenous languages, in the handwriting of individual participants, on scrolls specially prepared in Israel. These Bible scrolls from the different nations of the world will later be displayed in Israel in a gigantic Bible museum named 'The Bible House’.

The Bible Valley Society, an Israeli non-profit organisation, is coordinating the Bible House Project globally, while The Institute for Christian Leadership Development (ICLD) has been mandated to coordinate the project in South Africa.  Owing to the unique demographics of South Africa, the Bible will be inscribed in all eleven official languages.
