A Major in the Israeli Air Force, Elan Frank is a decorated war
hero who continues to serve in the reserves to this day. Elan received
the Medal of Honor in 1981 for rescuing 25 Israeli soldiers trapped
inside Lebanon. Late at night, and under fire, Elan flew in with his
crew to rescue a paratrooper force trapped behind enemy lines. Moments
before landing to retrieve the troops, missiles and bullets erupted
from every direction. Without hesitation Elan continued the mission
and miracously brought all 25 soldiers home.
Besides a stellar military record, Elan is also an award wining director
and producer. He is currently executive producer of a television series
about a helicopter squadron shot on location in Israel. His documentary
"Elite Choppers: Birds of Prey" aired on the Discovery Channel and
has won several awards. Elan was also featured on Fox Family Channel's
program Extreme Courage for his heroic mission in Lebanon.
Elan lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
Comments
"Elan conducted the discussion in a fantastic fashion and
engaged every single person in a very special way. He of course exhibited
a great deal of knowledge and was able to answer the many questions
in a remarkable way. His life experience, along with his personality
is a combination one can rarely find. As a man who places the well
being of the State of Israel and that of the Jewish people at the
center of my life, I find Elan to be no less than a gift! "
