Larry Weinberg was appointed executive Vice President of ISRAEL21c,
a non-profit, non-political pro-Israel education and advocacy organization,
in April 2002.
Before his current position, Larry worked as a lay leader and consultant
to a variety of Jewish organizations. He was a founding member of
the United Jewish Appeal's Western Marketing and Media Advisory Board
and served as its chair from 1992 to 1995. He also served as a member
of the executive committee of Israel Experience Inc., a non-profit
marketing organization, at the invitation of its founder, Charles
Bronfman. When that organization became Birthright Israel, Larry supervised
the original branding of Birthright Israel-the organization providing
free 10-day trips to Israel for every college-aged Jewish student-and
the marketing of the first Birthright Israel trips
Prior to joining ISRAEL21c Larry was a principal of Navicom Group,
a public relations agency with offices in Los Angeles, Philadelphia
and New York. A veteran of New York government and politics, Larry
served on the staffs of three New York City mayors and was the economic
development director of Brooklyn, New York for five years. As a public
relations executive, he has played key roles in a number of major
public events and celebrations including the United States Statue
of Liberty Centennial, Hands Across America, the Ellis Island Medals
of Honor and the 500th Anniversary of Columbus' Voyage of Discovery.
Larry Weinberg was born and raised in New York. He holds a Bachelor
of Arts from New York University and a Master of Public Administration
from the Maxwell School of Public Affairs at Syracuse University
