After spending six years in Israel, Justin has returned to the United
States to attend law school. Justin received his B.A. from UC Berkeley
in International Political Economics. Following his graduation in
1998 Justin immigrated to Israel. His first year was spent learning
Hebrew, volunteering on a Kibbutz, and preparing for his upcoming
army service. In 1999, Justin volunteered for the IDF's elite Paratrooper
regiment. Barely half a year after his draft, the present-day violence
and terror campaign broke out. For the remainder of his service, Justin's
unit was deployed in the West Bank and involved in some of the heaviest
fighting in the current conflict. He participated in counter-terrorism
operations including urban combat, foot patrols, ambushes, tactical
and field intelligence gathering, and other general security operations.
Justin guarded numerous checkpoints throughout the West Bank, and
has extensive knowledge of IDF protocol and conduct. He also had significant
exposure with the local Palestinian population. Since 2001 Justin
has served in a reserve armored reconnaissance unit.
Since leaving the active army, Justin has been working in Israel's
technology sector as a sales and marketing manager for media technology
companies. He has lived in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Over the past
several years, Justin has been speaking throughout the United States
and Canada on behalf of the Consulate General of Israel in Los Angeles,
The Jewish Agency and other private organizations. Following the completion
of his degree, he hopes to return to and live in Israel.
