Ehud
Danoch assumed the position of Consul General of Israel in October
2004. In this role, he is the senior representative of the State of
Israel in the southwestern United States.
Immediately prior to arriving in Los Angeles, Mr. Danoch served as
Chief of Staff to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs
Silvan Shalom. He served in this position during one of Israel's most
challenging moments in foreign policy and was involved in decisions
including the road map, the disengagement plan, and the security fence.
Before his position as Chief of Staff, he was the Senior Advisor
to Israel's Minister of Finance. Here, he was involved in shaping
Israel's economic policy and national budget. He also acted as the
liaison between the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister's Bureau,
the Israeli Parliament, and all other government offices.
Mr. Danoch received both a law degree and an MBA from Manchester
University and is a member of the Israeli Bar Association. He has
worked as a lawyer specializing in corporate and finance law and business
litigation.
Born in Ashkelon, Israel, Mr. Danoch has lived abroad in Montevideo,
Uruguay and Montreal, Canada. In addition to Hebrew, he speaks English
and Spanish fluently. He serves as a reservist in Israel's Defense
Forces at the rank of Captain.
Consul General Danoch is married to Michal, and they have one child.
