Aaron Friedman witnessed and took part in almost every major historic
event during the birth of the Jewish nation. Born in Jaffa under the
rule of the British Mandate, Aaron's family was one of the original
families of Tel Aviv. He grew up on the beaches of the Mediterranean
and as a teenager became one of Israel's most renowned lifeguards,
saving over 800 lives throughout his career.
As a young man, Aaron joined the Jewish Settlement Police under the
command of General Orde Wingate. In 1947 Aaron became one of the original
fighters of the Palmach and eventually David Ben Gurion's personal
bodyguard where he served by Ben Gurion's side during the War Of Independence.
Aaron was standing just a few feet away from the Prime minister when
he announced the establishment of the State of Israel. Aaron was also
instrumental in smuggling concentration camp survivors into Israel
from Europe.
Aaron Friedman is able to make the history pages come alive. His personal
stories of Prime Minister Ben Gurion, Moshe Dayan, Yitzhak Rabin and
almost every other historic figure transfix the listener. He is wonderful
with all age groups and is a national treasure.
