    ​Dear Friends Shalom,

    I have the honor and pleasure to welcome you to the new website of the Embassy of Israel in Nepal.
      
    This website intends to serve as a useful and user-friendly platform to provide updated information about the flourishing and dynamic bilateral relations between Israel and Nepal. In addition, I hope that the website will offer the Nepali public a fresh look on Israel in its various angles – economy, culture, society, science, technology, agriculture, history, tourism, politics and more.
     
    Indeed, the launching of this website in the year 2012 comes on an extremely auspicious time. Nepal and Israel have established diplomatic relations over 50 years ago. During those years the bond of partnership and cooperation between our two countries has developed and reached an impressive level. Our special relationship encompasses some of the key issues of human endeavor, including trade and agriculture, science, health, academia, culture and much more.

    During these 50 years of diplomatic relations, thousands of Nepalese visited Israel and Israelis visited Nepal. Nepalese professionals went to Israel on MASHAV courses while at the same time Israeli tourists had a life experience around the breathtaking Himalayan range, hill sides and the Terai plains of Nepal.

    Israel and Nepal are countries with very rich heritages, and are engaged in a constant struggle to preserve their unique cultural assets and traditions. While embracing modernity, our countries preserve values such as democracy, pluralism and tolerance. Equally, both Israel and Nepal have a bright future as powerhouses of innovation and enterprise and have much to gain from expanding their collaboration in these realms. Most importantly, Israel and Nepal are today bound by a unique degree of friendship amongst their peoples that serves as a solid foundation for enhancing our bilateral ties.
     
    I believe that this website can play an important role in building bridges between our peoples and providing information about the development of our ties. I sincerely hope you find it interesting and useful.
