Mr. Zvi Herman serves as Minster, Agriculture and Science Affairs accredited to USA, Canada and Mexico at the Embassy of Israel in Washington.

Prior to his posting to Washington in 2010, Mr. Herman held senior executive management and professional positions both in connection with Israel’s own agricultural sector and internationally.

Mr. Herman has over thirty years of agricultural and rural development experience. His recent position was, Director, Center for International Agricultural Development Cooperation (CINADCO). The center operates as Israel’s main professional and operational organization responsible for international agricultural development and technical cooperation programs, with developing countries and the global development agenda at large.

Following his Military service, Mr. Herman completed Academic degree studies at the Hebrew University in Agronomy and Education, and Executive Management Studies; of the Inter-Ministerial Senior level Program of Israel’s Public Service Commission.

Zvi, held various senior executive positions including; board member of Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Managing Director (CEO) “AGRIDEV” Ltd., (International Agricultural Development company), Director  Israel’s Southern “Negev” Region; Deputy Director Veterinary Services, Agriculture and Cooperative Adviser to the government of Fiji; on long term assignment on behalf of the government of Israel. Other executive positions include; Israel Export Institute for agriculture and technologies; Executive member of Israel-Africa Trade Association; Member of the People’s Republic of China-Israel Friendship Association; Founder and Executive Member of the Faculty of Agriculture Alumnae; Executive board member of Hof-Ashkelon Regional Council.

Growing up in Israel’s agricultural and rural sector, Mr. Herman is married with two daughters, is a member of “Mashav” Nir Israel (agricultural farm cooperative), located in the semi arid south costal region of the country. He is also active in sport and voluntary community activities.
