Oded Joseph - Minister Counselor for Middle Eastern Affairs

Oded Joseph, a career diplomat in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specializes in Israeli-Arab relations, and has served as Minister-Counselor for Middle Eastern Affairs at the Embassy of Israel, Washington DC, since August 2008.

Prior to his appointment at the Embassy, Mr. Joseph served as Director of the Coordination Department at the Bureau of the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as political advisor to the Director General.

After joining the Ministry in 1994, he served as second secretary for Political Affairs at the Embassy of Israel in Singapore (1996-1998) and as Counselor for Middle Eastern Affairs at the Embassy of Israel in Moscow (1998-2001).

Since his return to Israel, he has served as an analyst at the Center for Political Research (2001-2003), Assistant Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister (2003-2004) and Assistant to the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2004-2005).

Mr. Joseph received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies from Tel Aviv University. He was born in Israel and served in the IDF as an Infantry officer. Oded is married with four children.
