Lior Weintraub is the Spokesperson for the Embassy of Israel in Washington, DC.

Mr. Weintraub began his career as a journalist in the Jerusalem office of Yedioth Aronoth. He later served in the Knesset of Israel as an advisor and spokesperson for several committees, including the Comptroller Committee, Committee on Foreign Workers, and the Special Parliamentary Committee to Investigate the Social Gap in Israel Between 1980 and 2000.  During this time, he was also elected as the Chairperson of the Knesset Staffers Association.

In 2005, Mr. Weintraub joined the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  Initially, he served two years in India as the Spokesperson for the Embassy in New Delhi. He then moved to Washington D.C. to assume the post of Chief of Staff to the Ambassador of Israel to the United States.

Mr. Weintraub received a B.A. in International Relations and Political Science from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a Masters in Political Communications from Tel Aviv University. He is married with three children.
