I am honoured and excited to begin my mission as Consul General of the State of Israel in the Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR.
The bi-lateral relations between Israel, Hong Kong and Macao are stable based, as they are, on understanding, co-operation, respect and shared values. It is obvious that Hong Kong is a unique place and a model of the rule of law and individual freedom. It is a great honour to represent my country here. The amazing growth of our business and other relations in recent years is well-documented.
I am eager to know and exchange views on relevant issues and events shaping Hong Kong and Macao. Therefore, I intent to meet with leaders of the governments and business communities in both the SARs and to maintain and deepen our close co-operation in various fields.
As economic affairs is a major focus of our consulate in this dynamic region we are determined to further enhance our partnership in trade, and to explore commercial opportunities for Israeli companies and all our trading partners. Hong Kong is a gateway to mainland China, and Israel is a leader in high technologies and sciences; together we can be a great team.
I am also looking forward to working closely with the Israeli and Jewish communities here to strengthen our connection and personal contacts, and to reinforce the infrastructure and professional communication with government officials, members of legislative council, local businessmen, journalists, cultural managers and artists.
For me, it is a great challenge to be a part of this important process of bi-lateral relations. I will do my utmost to promote ties between the State of Israel and this special region as well as to enhance collaboration and interaction with the people.
