The brainchild of Dr. Chaim Weizmann, Israel's first President and a
renowned chemist, the Weizmann
Institute of Science is an educational
facility of international repute concentrating on the natural sciences
and mathematics. With many classes taught in English, the Weizmann
Institute emphasizes modern laboratory research and the newest
scientific techniques to explore subjects such as the immune system,
water resource expansion, plant genetics, solar energy, and lasers.
Currently, over 800 candidates from all parts of the world are working
at the school's Rehovot campus towards master's and doctoral degrees. A
large number of graduates will move on to conduct post-doctoral research
at top-ranking institutions in the United States and Europe while others
will reinvest their skills to assist in the scientific and industrial
advancement of the State of Israel.
