    From 31/10 to 04/11/2013, H.E. Mr. Yair Shamir - Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) of the state of Israel will pay on official visit to Vietnam. In Hanoi, Mr Shamir will be received by President Mr. Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Mr. Nguyen Tan Dzung and National Assembly Vice Chairman Mdm. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. He will also hold discussions with his counterpart- Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Mr. Cao Duc Phat on how to enhance the cooperation in agriculture at both governmental and private sector levels. Being fully aware of the importance of business sector in the process of cooperation and investment between the two countries, the Minister will meet with strategic Vietnamese business partners with Israel. The Minister will also host two business forums in Hanoi and HCMC which are co-organized by the VCCI and MARD, with the participation of Vietnamese and Israeli companies working in the field of agriculture and science and technology.

    In HCMC, the Minister will pay courtesy calls to Mr.Nguyen Van Dua , Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Mr. Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of People’s Committee. He will also pay a visit to HCMC dairy demonstration and experimental farm (DDEF) - a joint governmental project between Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV) and HCMC People's Committee.

    During 20 years of diplomatic relations establishment and development between Vietnam and Israel, agriculture - especially high-tech agriculture has always played a key role .Through various cooperation and investment programs, Israel has cooperated with Vietnam in capacity building and advanced technology application in order to increase productivity and efficiency in the different sectors of agriculture./
