WELCOME TO ISRAEL
JEWISH HERITAGE ITINERARY

DAY 1
Depart the United States to Israel

DAY 2
Arrive at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport. Travel by bus to hotel in Tel Aviv. Check into hotel. Remainder of day leisure.

DAY 3
Start the day with a tour of Old Jaffa where excavations have turned up artifacts Dating back 4,000 years. Enjoy a walking tour beginning at Clock Square. Places included in the tour will be The Jaffa Museum, The Mahmoudiye Mosque, and The Jaffa Port. Days end will be a visit to The Shuk Hapishpeshin Flea Market.

DAY 4
Visit The Eretz Israel Museum where 12 layers of settlements have been uncovered so far, and The Diaspora Museum with 2500 years of Jewish history. Spend the afternoon at one of the many free beaches in the heart of the city, or go water skiing at The Park Darom, or scuba diving at the Dugit Diving Center. Take time to explore the street market at Nahalat Binyamin. End the evening at one of the many bars, pubs or nightclubs along Allen by Street or Hayarkon Street.

DAY 5
Begin the day with a trip to Haifa, Israel's third largest city. Tour will begin with a visit to the Baha'i Shrine and Gardens where the founder of The Baha'i Faith is buried. Following will be a tour of The Carmelite Monastery. Elijah,s Cave is another site to visit Which is considered sacred to Jews, Muslims, and Christians. This is where Elijah found refuge from King Ahab, from 871B.C-853B.C. Remainder of the day at your leisure.

DAY 6
Visit the Museums of Haifa. There are a number of museums to visit such as The Haifa Museum of Art, The Clandestine Immigration and Naval Museum, and The Hecht Museum. Afternoon leisure time can be spent at beaches such as The Dado, Zamir Carmel, and The Bat Galim, or you can explore the Horev Center, The Panorama Center, The City Center or The Grand Canyon for your shopping needs. Spend your evening at The Haifa Auditorium enjoying The Israel Philharmonic, or The Haifa Symphony Orchestra. For those who want to dance, there's The Chaplin or The Fever.

DAY 7
Day starts with a three day trip to Historic Jerusalem, the mountainous walled city with a 5,000 year history of almost continuous occupation. Visit will begin with a view from The Mount of Olives, then it's off to explore the City of David. The first stop will be the Wailing Wall, and The AI Aqsa Mosque. From there this tour will go to Mt. Moriah or The Temple Mount as referred to by The Jews and Christians or Haram Esh- Sharif by The Muslims. The afternoon will be spent visiting the Via Dolorosa, The Lions Gate, Herod'sGate, and The Muslim Quarter. Leisure time can be spent at jazz clubs such as the Pargod Theater, or dance clubs like The underground, or nightclubs such as the The Orient Express.

DAY 8
An early start is needed to begin at the Church of The Holy Sepulcher in the Old City. From there to The Damascus Gate, then to the Garden Tomb, and The Tombs of The Kings. The Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Centre at Mount Scopus, is where we are next headed, to view the stained glass windows by French Jewish Artist Marc Chagall, which are located in the Synagogue. Great time to visit The King David Riding Stables to get in some horse back riding.

DAY 9
Today we visit West Jerusalem by starting with The Knesset, Israels Parliament. Must bring passport for entrance, and cameras must be checked. Another must see is The Israel Museum which is sprawled over a 22 acres across from The Knesset. One of the exhibits there is The Dead Sea Scrolls. Also across the parking lot is The Bible Lands Museum. Spend relaxing time at Ben Yehuda Street among the open air Midrachov Mall, and great little cafes with tables on the cobblestone. Enjoy evening leisure time.

DAY 10
Begins with a tour of Bethlehem, which is located in the West Bank. The first stop will be Rachael's tomb. Rachael was the second and favorite wife of Jacob. Farther into town we will come to Manager Square, which is the central plaza and entrance to The Church of the Nativity, which is built over the grotto thought to be the birthplace of Jesus. Upon return to Jerusalem, leisure time to enjoy shopping, or taking in a museum.

DAY 11
Take off for a two day trip to the oasis town of Ein Gedi, and Masada. The first stop is Nahal David. This is where 3,000 years ago David hid from the wrath of King Saul. This is a nature reserve with clearly marked trails, and a chance to catch a refreshing dip under one of the lower waterfalls. As we move to the south we will come to the area known as Masada. Masada entered History as the site of the last stand of Jewish rebels against the Legions of Rome. Days end be at the Ein Bokek Hotel District.

DAY 12
Today will be spent floating on The Dead Sea. The Ein Gedi has great facilities with access to The Dead Sea, a freshwater pool and free Dead sea mud which is reputed to have therapeutic qualities. We return back to Jerusalem in the late afternoon/early evenIng.

DAY 13
Say goodbye, to Jerusalem as we depart for Tel Aviv. Today is a full dayofleisure to explore the restaurants, shopping areas, museums or just relax and enjoy your last day and night in Israel.

DAY 14
Depart from Tel Aviv heading back to The States.

A visit to Israel is a journey into the history of religion. In Israel every excavation uncovers long lost history. Only in Israel can one walk where the Prophets walked; stand in the waters where John the Baptist baptized and cleansed souls. Only in Israel can the site of a battle fought long ago against the Romans still be viewed from the top of Masada. Only in Israel can you stand in the Holy City of Jerusalem in which three major religions have fought over. Israel the land of history the land of culture/ the land of excitement, and the land which hinds us all together. your trip to Israel will be a thrill that will remain in your heart forever.
