Biography
Established in 1999, the Carmel Quartet is considered to be one of the most promising string quartets in Israel. Earlier this year, the quartet won first prize at the "Aviv" National Competition in the chamber music category as well as the prize for performance of an Israeli piece.
The Carmel Quartet has appeared at major chamber music venues in Israel, Switzerland, Great Britain, Austria and Italy and has recorded for Israel radio and television. Since 2000, it has been invited regularly to perform and broadcast concerts in the "Upper Galilee Chamber Music Festival" in Kfar Blum. The quartet has also been invited to participate in the prestigious Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival in September 2004.
Members of the quartet are: Rachel Ringelstein, violin; Hadar Cohen, violin; Yoel Greenberg, viola; Tami Waterman, cello. The Carmel Quartet of Israel is a recipient of an America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship.
