. The Consular Department provides the following services: Authentication of signatures and Authentication of declarations, legalization of documents as true copies of originals and life certificates.

If you require an Apostille on an Israeli document, you may request a copy of the certificate through the consulate (Certificate of Death in Israel, certificate of Birth in Israel, Population Registry, Name Change). These documents will be requested from Israel; at least 8 weeks is required to obtain Apostille authentication. They will be issued in Hebrew (the Consulate does not provide translation services .

. Please be advised that in order to sign documents related to real-estate transaction, you have to be identified with a Passport (Israeli, American or other) or Israel ID certificate.


Life Certificate
A person residing abroad who receives allowances from the State of Israel and who must prove that he/she is alive, may apply to the Consulate with an Israeli identifying document in order to get a life certificate. A $12 fee per certificate is required in cash or money order

Requirements for Signature Authentication
1. Appear in person at the Consulate. Each person signing the document must be present personally.
2. Present a valid photo ID, e.g. passport, driver's license, etc. you must present the same ID being used to identify you in the signed document (for example, if the document state your Israeli ID number you must present an Israeli ID or an Israeli passport, if the document state your American passport number, you need to present that passport etc.)
3. A $12 fee per signature is required in cash or money order
4. The consulate only authenticates documents written in a language understood by the applicant.
 

Authentication of copies
To authenticate that your document is true copy of the original document you must bring the original document, a copy (for pages 8'*11' - 11'*17') will be made and authenticated at the consulate (if the document is hard to copy in a regular copy machine please provide a copy). A $6 fee per copy is required in cash or money order.
