From the USA to Israel to Chicago
    One week.
Only one week until the first Israeli Jazz Festival debuts in Chicago.
Since word got out about the festival – there is one question people keep asking:
Why do an Israeli Jazz Festival in the city of Chicago? What's the connection?
The correlation between Chicago and Jazz is pretty clear. Chicago has always been a Jazz city even before the movie.
Israel and Jazz however- hmm… not really an easily recognizable natural combination. People who think about Israel and Israeli music usually have something else in mind.
However, in the last few years we have seen more and more talented Israeli Jazz musicians bring a new vibe to the world of Jazz. It seems that "you cannot talk about Jazz without talking about Israeli Jazz."
    <How come?
    Here is one thought:
Let's take a stroll through Jazz's memory lane-
Many Jewish musicians have been there since almost the beginning leaving their mark (including Chicago's own famous Benny Goodman), Some of those musicians found their way to Israel and brought with them the "message of Jazz". This message of bringing people together was soon adopted in the country whose people and music came from different countries and cultures.
Israeli Jazz is simply the result of people coming together from different backgrounds creating non-verbal dialogues.
These extraordinary new styles of Israeli Jazz have come back to the USA and now to Chicago.
    Closing this circle of Jazz.
Now we just have to sit back (or groove) and enjoy!
