Ron Prosor - Minister-Counselor for Political Affairs
In July 1998, Ron Prosor assumed the position of
Minister-Counselor for Political Affairs at the
Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C. Mr. Prosor was
a member of the Israeli delegation to the Wye
River talks.
Before arriving in Washington, Mr. Prosor served as
the Spokesman for the Embassy of Israel in London,
England (1995-1998) during the first ever state
visit of IsraelŐs President Ezer Weitzman to the
United Kingdom.
Mr. Prosor also served at the Embassy of Israel in
Bonn, Germany during unification for four years
(1988-1992) and held responsibility for the new
federal states in the former East Germany.
Mr. Prosor was Deputy Director of the West
European Division and Director of the Operation
Center (1992-1995) at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs in Jerusalem.
Ron Prosor was born in Israel in 1958. He served in
the Israel Defense Forces as an Artillery officer,
rising to the rank of Major in the reserves.
Minister-Counselor Prosor has a Masters Degree
(cum-laude) in political science from the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem.
He is fluent in German and English.
He is married to Hadas and has three children Lior
(16), Tomer (13) and Oren (9).
