 Moshe Fox - Minister of Public Affairs
Moshe Fox, the current Minister of Public Affairs at
the Embassy of Israel, Washington DC, took up his
post in August 2000. Born in Haifa in 1948, Mr. Fox
is an historian and archivist by training and a
career diplomat. He joined the Israeli Foreign
Ministry after graduating from the Hebrew
University.
In 1977, he was assigned to the Information
Division of the Foreign Ministry. Two years later,
he became an assistant at the office of the foreign
minister, working for the late Moshe Dayan and
Yitzhak Shamir.
In 1981 Mr. Fox served in our embassy in
Washington as an assistant to Ambassadors Evron,
Arens and Rosenne. Upon his return to Israel in
1984, he served as an assistant director of the
World Jewish Affairs Division.
In 1987, Mr. Fox was posted to the Consulate
General of Israel to the Midwest, in Chicago, as
Consul of Information and spokesman of the
consulate.
Upon his return to Israel in 1991, he served as the
deputy director of the North American Division and
in 1993 became a senior member of the policy
planning staff. In 1994 he was appointed director of
the North American Division, where he served until
taking up his present post in the Embassy of Israel
in Washington DC. |
