Oren
Anolik - Counselor for Political Affairs
Mr. Oren Anolik has held the position of Counselor
for Political Affairs at the Embassy of Israel in
Washington DC since August 2006. Mr. Anolik's areas
of responsibility include United States foreign policy,
especially vis-à-vis Europe, Asia and Latin
America, and acting as liaison on multilateral issues,
as well as on technical and humanitarian cooperation.
Mr.
Anolik had served as policy advisor to the Director
General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between
July 2003 and July 2006. In this capacity his responsibilities
included coordinating activities within the Director
General's bureau and between departments in the ministry,
as well as supervising the implementation of the Director
General's initiatives. Mr. Anolik had also served
as special liaison with regard to Israel's relations
with Arab Gulf states.
Mr.
Anolik previously served as policy advisor to the
Senior Deputy Director General of the MFA in charge
of Middle East affairs and the Peace Process (2002-2003).
From 1999 to 2002 he served as deputy chief of mission
at the Embassy of Israel in Prague, the Czech Republic.
His duties and responsibilities included: political
analysis and reporting, media and public affairs,
cultural affairs and technical cooperation.
From
1997-1999 Mr. Anolik served as deputy chief of mission
at the Israeli Embassy in Asmara, Eritrea, where in
addition to his diplomatic duties he also served as
administrative officer and consul.
Mr.
Anolik joined the Foreign Service in 1995. After completing
the diplomatic training program, and until his posting
to Asmara, he served in the foreign ministry's public
relations division where his duties included the coordination
and management of the Ministry's "Young Ambassadors"
program.
Mr.
Anolik completed his Bachelor's degree in political
science and accounting at Tel-Aviv University (1992-1995).
He completed his mandatory military service in the
Communications Corps with the rank of Captain.
