Join us for "Beta Israel: Ethiopian Jews and the Promised Land," an
exhibition that explores the mass migration of Ethiopian Jews into
modern Israeli society and the integration difficulties they face.
The exhibition is inspired by the book The Ethiopian Jews of Israel
by Len Lyons and features 100 photographs by South African
photojournalist Ilan Ossendryver. Lyons and Ossendryver have
collaborated for many years to explore this 30-year exodus of more
than 100,000 Jews from Ethiopia to Israel.
A lecture and concert series will accompany the exhibit and will be
announced in January.
The museum is located on the third floor of the Philip Weltner
Library Building, near the rear of the Oglethorpe University campus.
Free parking is available immediately behind the building.
