Embassy of Israel honors Hispanic Heritage Month

On Tuesday, September 12th the Embassy of Israel hosted a reception in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. The event was presented with the generous support of the Latino and Latin American Institute of the American Jewish Community. The reception was held to celebrate the many shared bonds and values between the Jewish and Hispanic communities.
Over 200 prominent members of the Washington, D.C. Hispanic community enjoyed an evening of music, food, and speeches by dignitaries. Speakers included the Majority Leader of the Knesset, Hon. Avigdor Itzhaki MK, the Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Jeremy Issacharoff, The National Council La Raza President, Janet Murguia, as well as Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, Rep. Steve Rothman, Sen. Mel Martinez, and Sen. Ken Salazar. The speakers emphasized the strategic importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship, as well as the necessity of reaching out to all segments of American society with this message
