Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni Arrives in the United States
for a Working Visit

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni has arrived for a
working visit in the U.S. which will focus on the situation
in the Palestinian Authority following the electoral victory
of Hamas, the issue of Iran's nuclear program, and the
situation along Israel's northern border.

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni left last night (February 6)
for a working visit in the United States. In the course of
her visit she will hold a series of meetings in Washington
DC and New York. Foreign Minister Livni will meet with Vice
President Richard Cheney, Secretary of State Condoleezza
Rice, National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley, as well as
with leading US Senators and Congressmen. In New York, she
will meet with United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan
and with leaders of the American Jewish community.
Foreign Minister Livni will focus in her meetings on the
situation in the Palestinian Authority following the
electoral victory of Hamas, the issue of Iran's nuclear
program, and the situation along Israel's northern border.
