Acting PM Olmert will try to form government as soon as
possible

Thursday, 6 April, President Moshe Katsav formally asked
Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to form the next
government on the recommendation of 78 of the 120 MKs.
Olmert said he will "seek to establish the most stable
coalition possible," based on his convergence plan - a
unilateral withdrawal from large areas of the West Bank.
The members of the 17th Knesset will be sworn in on April
17.
