The Fourth Annual Christian Israel-Solidarity Event

The Fourth Annual Christian-Israel Solidarity Event took place at the Embassy of Israel on Wednesday May 4th. The keynote speakers were Ambassador of Israel Daniel Ayalon and Dr. Pat Robertson, Founder and Chairman of the Christian Broadcast Network.

Ambassador Ayalon stated that "the Evangelical community is a bedrock of support for Israel in the United States." He thanked attendees for "being a strong and courageous voice for Israel even during times when it was not so popular." He made mention of his belief that the Evangelical community has "always taken decisions based on faith, morality, truth and decency," and he commended the honored guests for " visiting Israel and. purchasing Israeli products;" pointing out that "by doing so [they] have both helped our economy at a time when it has been affected by terror and have shown our brave population that we are not alone."

In his address Dr. Robertson spoke of Israel as an "island of democracy and civility in the midst of a sea of oppression." He referred to the common heritage and theology that Christians and Jews share and his commitment to ensuring that Jerusalem remains the undivided capitol of Israel.
