Statement by the Ambassador of Israel on the passing of Max Fisher
March 18, 2005

Israel's Ambassador to the United States Daniel Ayalon was grieved to learn of the recent passing of Max Fisher. Upon hearing the news Mr. Ayalon noted that "Max was unique in so many ways and his views and opinions were always valued greatly by American and Israeli leaders. He was rightly known as the "Quiet Diplomat" but his words of counsel were heard loud and clear." Ayalon went on to say that "Max Fisher's contribution to American Jewish life and to American-Israeli relations was legendary and he will be sorely missed."

Ambassador Ayalon also wishes to extend his condolences to Mr. Fishers wife Marjorie and to their family.
