Embassy of Israel Briefing
The Disengagement Plan is an Israeli initiative that is an important
part of Israel's ongoing quest for peace. Taking great care in
preparation and planning, Israel intends to simultaneously address
and advance the security needs of Israel's citizens as well as
the aspirations of the Palestinians. Indeed, Disengagement is
designed to promote both the economic and social needs and interests
of both peoples.
The Disengagement Plan also entails quite a considerable economic
cost to the State of Israel, as well as a series of significant
sacrifices required of those Israelis that have made their homes
and their livelihoods in Gaza and northern Samaria. Click
here to read more about the cost and the expenditures involved
in the implementation of the Disengagement Plan.
