Israel Enters ICJ Discussions On The Terrorism Prevention Fence
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, this evening (Wednesday), January 28, 2004, held consultations regarding Israel's preparations for the International Court of Justice in the Hague's discussions on the terrorism prevention fence
It was decided that Israel would file a document with the International Court of Justice in the Hague regarding the Court's lack of jurisdiction on this subject. The document will detail various issues, which led Israel to construct the terrorism prevention fence, such as: the right of self-defense, Palestinian terrorism, etc.
It was agreed that a ramified information campaign would be conducted parallel to the legal proceedings, in Israel, the US and Europe.
Further consultations on Israel's preparations for the Hague discussions will be held following the submission of the aforementioned document and after receiving the legal documents that will be submitted by other countries, in order to assess the situation.
