Release of Palestinian Prisoners

The Ministerial Committee on Palestinian Prisoner Affairs last night (Sunday), August 3, 2003, and decided to release Palestinian prisoners that meet the relevant criteria determined by the government.

The Palestinian prisoners will be asked to sign a commitment that they will refrain from all terrorist activity and/or violence in the future.

The Palestinian prisoners' release will be carried out on Wednesday, August 6, 2003, beginning in the afternoon.

In accordance with the guidelines of Attorney General Elyakim Rubinstein, the list of Palestinian prisoners to be released will be published this morning at http://www.ips.gov.il/.
