Embassy of Israel Briefing
June 19, 2002
Dear Friends:
In an article entitled "American-Born Haters of US and Israel
Spring Up On Campus," (Ha'aretz, 6/18/02) journalist Yair Sheleg
sheds light on an alarming rise in anti-Semitism on college campuses
in the United States and abroad. The article points out that anti-Semitic
rhetoric and activities are often veiled by anti-Israel initiatives
carried out by Muslim and anti-American/anti-establishment students.
Many Jewish organizations, including Hillel and the Anti-Defamation
League, have begun working with Jewish students to reverse this
trend. Click

The Embassy of Israel's Office of Academic Affairs works to raise
Israel's profile on college campuses in the mid-Atlantic region.
