Embassy of Israel Briefing
August 23, 2002
The very nature of the century long conflict between Palestinians
and Israelis precludes a quick fix or instant solution. The necessity
to counter ferocious Palestinian terrorism and a corrupt Palestinian
leadership that is unwilling to restrain or stop terror has impeded
Israel's attempts to reach a peaceful solution. While addressing
the immediate crisis the government of Israel has discussed the
way forward. In its last meeting on August 18, 2002, the cabinet
discussed several milestones on the road to peace. Click here to
read Prime
Minster Sharon's summary of the discussion of the Israeli cabinet.
The attached summary highlights future policies of Israel to halt
the Palestinian terror and promote peace.
Sincerely,
Moshe Fox
Minister for Public Affairs
Embassy of Israel, Washington DC
