Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Sharon Bar-li noted that ‘any country that has had to fight for its independence knows and appreciates what it means to be free forever.

The State of Israel now, is definitely better than what it was sixty five years ago. For this, we are proud. Israel has developed from an agrarian state run along collectivist lines into a hi-tech economy in the past 60 years, turning the fortunes of the country primarily through innovation, technology, hard work and commitment of the Israelis. We are indeed proud as a country and we remain committed to working even harder to achieve greater strides’.

On Israel’s relations with Ghana, Her Excellency Sharon Bar-li reiterated Israel’s commitment to supporting the government of Ghana in any meaningful way it can. She reminded Ghanaians of their obligation to safeguard the golden seeds of nationhood and democracy.  She added that the modest gains of Ghana’s democracy needed to be protected and that sacrifice, integrity and dedication, honesty, hard work and selflessness were virtues Ghanaians must invest in as a legacy for their nation.

The event was also witnessed by government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, among others.
