Following the spate of bomb explosions at political rallies across the country, Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Moshe Ram has counseled all Nigerians to be more vigilant and observant as terrorism which he described as blind could be targeted at anybody.
Speaking in Minna while commiserating with Niger State Governor, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu whose campaign rally was recently bombed in Suleja, killing many people and others wounded, Ambassador Ram noted that no country is today spared of the ongoing globalization of terror.
The Ambassador who led a delegation of Israeli businessmen to the State said during an interactive session at the Government House that for many years “we were exposed to this crazy wave of Insanity” apparently referring to suicide bombings and terror attacks on the State of Israel by its hostile neighbors.
Mr. Ram informed the governor that he was in the state with a strong business team which deals in various aspects of the economy, including security, modern agriculture, science education, health, communications, water management, IT and micro irrigation systems.
He emphasized that Nigeria stands to benefit a lot from the Israeli experience by investing in the aforementioned areas instead of depending solely on oil which he said “will finish one day, but agriculture will stay to feed the people.”
According to him, only two percent of Israeli population engages in agriculture, but because of its high technological knowhow the country produces enough for local consumption and for export.
Responding, the governor said he was impressed by the presentations of the business team, which according to him centered on the welfare of the peoples. He immediately gave approval for the implementation of some of the proposals by assigning officials to take them up, saying “from now Israel will be a house hold name in Minna.”
