Speaking at a farewell dinner organized for him and the outgoing Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. George Deek in Abuja on Thursday, the Ambassador said Nigerians have the courage and stamina to win what he called “this difficult battle”.
His words, “You must win this battle. The people of this country are capable of overcoming these challenges; it is a matter of time and training. Nigerians are skillful and intelligence and, you have no option than to win this battle”.
Mr. Ram who was posted to Nigeria as Israeli Ambassador in 2007 recalled that in his 37 years in the Foreign Service, working in the country was one of his most exciting and complicated assignments. “My five years in Nigeria were fantastic experiences that I will cherish the rest of my life.”
In his remarks, Mr. Deek, the outgoing Deputy Head of Mission, who has been posted to Norway, described Nigeria as a wonderful country with warm and accommodating people. He said his experience in Nigeria, his first country of posting as a diplomat has prepared him for the task ahead.
The farewell dinner was organized by some friendly Non Governmental Organizations to the State of Israel. They include, Nigeria-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Nigeria-Israel Business Forum, Militant Women Intercessors, Plus Factor International and Shalom Club Nigeria whose founding officials were formally inducted at the occasion by the deputy head of mission.
