Agricultural and Scientific Affairs
As the US-based arm of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture, the Office of Agriculture and Science continuously develops the excellent relations and cooperation with its counterparts in the Federal Government, State institutions, research centers and private organizations in the US, Canada and Mexico. Serving as the liaison between the Government of Israel and prominent US agencies as the USDA, USTR, USBR, EPA, NASA, it advances such critical issues as agricultural and food security, water technologies and security, plant and animal health, as well as agricultural import and export, binational research funds, bilateral trade agreements, and scientific cooperation, just to name a few.
Since scientific breakthroughs in Israel have long been underlying agricultural developments, the Office of Agriculture and Science is involved in some of the most burning issues occupying governments, companies and people worldwide such as alternative energy, including superior plant genetics developments for biofuel and cellulosic energy, as well as water desalination and water reuse for industrial and agricultural applications, and more.
